Not sure what you are 100% meaning?

They will grow where they are transplanted to.

But if you are meaning when happens to the beard donor site after you extract a follicle?

Then no, the hair follicles which are removed from the beard do not grow back.

the latter is what I meant obv.

I thought htat dht levels were strong enough that htey could replace hte follicles on the beard. And only the hair as men age is weak enough that nothign would grow back.

Hair follicle is an organ. If you take it out, nothing will grow there...same as if you take a kidney out for example, nothing will grow there.

Beard and body grafts are used when there isn't enough donor on scalp/back of the head.

why not use it first if you have a giant beard but don't want it.

And your hair looks like your beard hair anyway.

Probably because it will leave a visible scar if you take all the beard hairs, single hair follicles in beard and the quality just isn’t the same as scalp hairs.

They don’t use it in hairline, only mixed in with scalp hairs.
