If you are not fully developed, do not take Finasteride

Seriously, be safe. I took Finasteride when I was 17, and I still wonder how it fucked me up physically. I think it kind of stunted my growth a bit. Wait until you feel like you have totally grown before you take Finasteride.

My shoulders stopped growing. I got no more muscle development. And I am the same now as I was back then. I got a slight case of gyno, I think. There's definitly something going on there. I bet it stunted my male dvelopment in other areas too.

I was still developing then, and taking Propecia definitly affected me. No doubt. Just wait people

mate im 18 in 2 weeks and started using propecia a week ago. i reckon im fully developed im about 5'10 and havent grown nemore in the last 2 or so years. everywhere else growth seems to b fine. got a fair build bcos i do lots of sports and frequent the gym. got full stubble etc i think i matured quickly. but even still i dont think itd b an option to not use it bcos being really thin so young would b a nightmare and my thinning so far all happened quite quick. maybe u should work out to boost ur build? how old ru?

explain oh wise one how propecia stunts growth or makes impossible to grow muscle? it's impossible. further more, if you have gyno, the chances of it being from propecia is so small, it's not even worth mentioning.

gyno is more likely caused from increases in cortisol or just simple being fat (over-eating, no exercise). blaming propecia is not going to help

there's no evidence to suggest that propecia does has any more side effects on a 14 year old compared to a 40 year old

I dont think propecia can stunt your growth, f*** up your sexual system? maybe, but stunting your growth is a bit extreme.

And in regards to gyno, excess estrogen, something many many men have complained about is a cause for gyno, as is excess prolactin etc etc.

DHT is necessary for normal sexual development, but I don't think it is necessary for muscle growth or height. I've been reading up just a little on those guys in the Dominican Republic with 5ar2 deficiency. They seem to develop normally from puberty onward (prior to puberty they have underdeveloped sexual organs and are often mistaken for girls). They appear to be healthy and grow normally, but they sometimes have sexual problems even after puberty. They also have less body hair.

If you're still developing and aren't yet finished puberty, I don't think Propecia could do anything to you other than potentially mess up your sexual development. Unless Propecia affects more than just 5ar2, which it does, but the consequences of this appear to be unknown. So if Propecia did interfere with normal muscle development or height, it would probably do so by some other mechanism than reduced levels of 5ar2.
