IF MUM HAD TEMPORARY HAIR LOSS.....

Aske my mum and she told me she suffered from hair loss around he same age as my male pattern baldness started......Then she also said it all stopped and grew back thicker....What is her hair condition called?......Pardon me as i know little about female hair loss....

what does this mean for me as her son?

Take note her time period of hair loss was in the early 80s....Hair loss products were not as extensive compared to now,.,,,,

Sounds like she had Telogen Effluvium. Telogen Effluvium.

It does not mean that you have it though... But I guess you have been diagnosed.

I have been diagnosed as having male pattern baldness....But a bit doubtful though cause it could be either mature hairline/recede....

How could i inherit male pattern baldness if she had Telogen Effluvium?

As recent research says the the male pattern baldness gene is inherited from MUM

Maybe is it due to excess DHT? but not genetically inherited..

It's not from your mom, it's from her SIDE. If her dad went bald early, you probably will too. Recent research shows that (in most cases anyways) early thinners inherit the gene from their maternal grandfather. Men who go bald later in life inherit that from their dads. If your maternal grandfather didn't go bald early, then you are probably right and you've got a Telogen Effluvium going on. Good luck!

well my maternal grandpa is a NW2.5 till age 55 when he passed away........My male pattern baldness pattern is almost identical to is....and our physical charactrsistics are almost the same....same skin colour body shape weight ect....

From where did u get this info? As far as I know, if u got male pattern baldness, then you got it. If u are thinning early then it comes from mom’s side, if u are thinning later in the age then u got it from your dad, It just doesn’t make sense. Do u have anything to back up your claim??
