If hairloss treatment really works then why?

Why doesn't everybody do it? I see celebrities with millions going bald and not stopping or halting it. Also see tons of men balding everyday. You would think if Rogaine or propecia really worked you wouldn't see it as much as those drugs have been around for years.

Is there anybody here who has stopped hairloss all together?

Or should we just get realistic here - once you start losing your hair, there's really nothing you can do. Just accept it and deal with it and stop wasting money on drugs that don't really do much?

If I had millions I wouldnt give two shits because of the following:

1) People would still kiss my ***

2) I could still get any A$$ I wanted

1. No atheletes sport stars can use it due to it being banned because it is used to mask other drugs in the system.
2. Most celebrities do use treatments , but as with everybody they are only human and quit or are unsuccessful with their treament.
3.Everybody reacts differently to hair loss , most of us here on this forum are young and it causes much more grief for us. Most people in life just accept it.

There are probably a lot who do use treatments and hence are not visibly bald(ing), if this group of people were taken into account then the numbers most likely balance out. The ones who are bald either 1. do not care, 2. treatments did not work , 3. gone bald pre-propecia and I am sure there are a few who probably do not realize treatments exist and are too scared to search around in fear that others may find out the inevitable truth.

There's enough people out there aren't vain enough or care enough about it..also I still think there is still received wisdom that there is nothing can be done about it at all so guys just shave and move on. Hell, I only heard of propecia through the internet in the last two years yet its been on the market over 10 years I think?? I know I've never had a conversation with a male friend about it. Guys don't normally talk about it except in places of relative anonymity like here.

I can tell you they do work, I've not only stopped it, I've re-grown.

I remember when Propecia came out and all the hoop la
about sexual side effects. That really turned me off and I
did not pay attention to it till a year and half ago and realized the
side effects are totally overblown. I suspect the stars you
see with hairloss are the non-responders or those that
get the sides. And of the stars with good hair we really
don't know who has gotten hair transplant's or have been on meds
for a long time.

John Travolta comes to mind, that guy can't catch a break in
the hair department, but hell he's got a hot wife and all the
money a guy could need. But I bet he's tried several things
with no results on the hair.

Casperz , I just don't understand people like you. Why can't you realise that everyone expieriences side effects differently. There's no doubt that I suffered the side effects in full force.

I do realize that some do get side-effects and some very bad one, it's
luck of the draw just like some people get heart disease or cancer. Some
respond, some get results, others don't. Life sucks for everyone some of
the time.

And what I was talking about was coming to web sites like this one
and seeing that people do get results and don't get sides. Prior
to coming here and only listening to the media and comedians make fun
of the drug I thought everyone became impotent which is clearly
not the case. So I stand by what I said and believe side effects are way
overblown for a large percentage of users compared to what the media
was saying when Propecia was released. I've experienced zero
side effects and great results and I'm certain I'm not alone.

Which celebrities do you mean? I'd bet that quite alot of young celebs are using meds. But for those in their 50's/40's or even some in their 30's when they started losing hair treatments either were'nt available or were'nt known about.
And as has been mentioned a huge majority of balding men are'nt really bothered enough to do anything about it.

i'm sure Simon Cowell's had a transplant. Tom Cruise too, probably

What?!? there's nothing about either of their hair that looks suspect, both of these guys are just geneticly blessed in the hair dept.

It does look a bit suspect...

Cowell has absolutely no sense of fashion. He's rather badly dressed for someone caring about his looks.

Yeah but his hair has always looked like that. It looks more like a bad wig than a hair transplant. Theres never been any pics of him with a receeding hairline.

Ps I'd bet money that Cowell is :gay:

If you catch your mbp fairly quick . what would you say the percentage of young males were , that were satisfied with the results..and propecia or finasteride actually helped them .

I also think Cowell wears a piece. His hair is always EXACTLY the same in every picture, television appearance, etc.

But I've seen pics of him in the 80's with the same hair. If its a piece he's certainly got his money's worth out of it.
