If Finasrteride and LLT didn't help then Rogaine

Took finasteride 1.25 2 to 3 days a week for 2 years, and used HairMax LLT for 1 year. No change. Actually, I think the lateral side near the side burn (strangely more on right side then left side) seems to have lost a little more density. The next viable option will be Minoxidil or Rogaine.

1) What bothers me with Rogaine or Min is that not only is it a life time sentence and cost, but hairs becoming dependent on Rogaine which has wide range of opinions. If Rogaine doesn't work, will my hairs still become dependent on Rogaine? When people talk about hair dependency on Rogaine, do you all mean that hairs become unable to grow at all without Rogaine?

2) Also, with me, it's not the thinning. I'm pretty happy with the thickness of my hairs. It's reduce number of hair follicles based on the result of my scalp biopsy (this makes my hairs look less dense). So if I don't have enough follicles, Rogaine cannot increase the number of follicles, I think I will not be a right candidate for Rogaine.

Can we discuss my above two questions? Thanks.

maybe try finasteride every day? twice a week might not have been enough, and your DHT levels would have probably been fluctuating which is unlikely to be helpful

2 years. No change.

sounds like a success to me

adding rogaine may help give you significant regrowth

and the answer is no to the first question
