If a feeling I get is something most of you balding people have:I get pain in my hairs at the temples when touching and playing with them. This is no doubt an immune attack, but I also have SB so I do not know the origin of the pain, since the immune system playes a roll in sb as well.
So my question is: Do you, a person with no dandruff( a mild state of sb), get such a pain?

I only really got dandruff when I first started using rogaine. I think the PPG was irritating.

Since my male pattern baldness "episode" this fall, though, I have noticed a burning sensation at the crown and an even more occasional pain in the temples. I learned some things to limit it though.

The scalp exercises, though much derided on this forum, had a very calming effect on the scalp pain. With the addition of finasteride, which I think has diminished the inflammation even further, I have a very uninflamed scalp. There is a positive corellation between tight scalps and bald scalps. At this point I can place my hand on my head and move my scalp in its relaxed state about 2 cm back and forth, and probably even more during the scalp exercises. When I began, that was not a possibility. And, most importantly, no more painful scalp.

The exercises alone won't save my hair, but I sure as hell don't think they're hurting.
