since inflamation is a big part of losing your hair, would it be wise to pop an antiinflamotry tab like ibprofun every day?, or would it be worse off for our health in the long term view. i have days where my scalp is itchy in key area

Ok, norain, please don't beg the question here. What I mean by that is arriving at the conclusion before serious study and investigation has taken place. "Inflamation is a big part of losing your hair" may be what someone here or elsewhere has stated but what verification and proof do you have for that? That is a broad and sweeping statement to be sure and one which I don't necessarily believe. If you are referring to asprin or ibuprofen, I'd be careful about taking too much of that as it can be hard on your stomach etc. Just my two cents here.

I don't think that taking ibuprophren (sp?) as needed for pain, fever, or headaches, is bad for your hair - but - you should note that the stronger anti-inflammatory drugs (umm, like, Naproxin) can actually INCREASE and contribute to hair fallout.

For that reason - I'd avoid the use of anti-inflammatories as a hair loss measure - because it'd probably provide the opposite of the desired effect.

Ibuprofin wont do the trick, you could consider a topcial anti-inflammatory. Talk to a skin doctor, I did that for a bit and my scalp saw major improvements.

The way I see it, if your scalp isnt healthy, your hair wont be so great and male pattern baldness may accelerate or look worse. Thats why I think Nizoral helps, it makes your scalp healthy - I dont think it does anything to combat hairloss per say. Cortisone type lotions may clear up your scalp and your hair may indeed look better, but it probably wont be related to your genetic male pattern baldness.
