I am 22. I started to use minoxidil cause I noticed hairs started thinning and without consulting with doctor started to use minoxidil. Before starting the procedure it wasn't looking so bad but during the 1 month of using it I faced crazy shedding I kept using it couse everywhere it was stated that it is normal state. After a month shedding slowed down and sometimes completely stoped but I started look like balding ,man now I'm noticing some improvements but I didn't know that I have to use it for entire life otherways hairs' condition will be worse then before using the minoxidil. I regret now because I could use instead finasterid which is also very effective and some other natural things like oil massage and onion juice. I have been using minoxidil for 1 and half months and isn't it too late for me to stop using it? Please give some advice, it seems like I made a mistake and don't know whether to stop it or not.

At this stage it's not too late to stop. You will likely shed again when you stop and your hair will look even worse but eventually it will grow back. finasteride should always be the first treatment you use when fighting male pattern baldness.

Thank you for your reply. Have you ever seen such people who stopped and got back their hair again?

That depends. If you haven't been using it for long then you will likely regrow the hair you lost during the shed. If you've been using it for quite a while ( 1 year + ) then stop you probably won't get the hair back.

Do you think then minoxidil is dangerous for people who has densy hair, exept little patch at the top of head and other hairs will be dependant on minoxidil and when he stops those hairs will shed and there is no guarantee that they will grow back again?

Be prepared for a very likely insane shed and being below baseline for ~1 year. I would not stop

Nah, people with denser hair will be less affected by the shed due to having thicker hair. Hairs that have already 'died' due to DHT will be dependent on minoxidil as a life support but the other hairs not yet affected by DHT will grow back after stopping.

Let me tell you my story from the beginning. Even 4-5 moths ago I had quite densy hair and i just noticed little thinning from the front of my hair and i decided to try out minoxidil and consultant of the firm offered 10 % minoxidil spray i used it 2 month. I didn't see any change and I had little bit longer hair and when I shertened it I saw little part at the top of my hair was thinner than other parts I was scared and sterted use minoxidil 5% for the top of my hair and this was my biggest mistake I think, I didn't know that I had to use it for entire life and I lost too much hair I kept using it couse consultant of company convinced me that it is good sign. Now I don't know what to do whether continue or stop. If you are specialist in this field please help!
