I updated my sig

Should be a pretty trivial thread, but a number of people have expressed interest (and/or horror) with respect to my regimen so I am announcing the update to avoid confusion in case anyone is really interested. I apologize for the delay, but the sig was one character under the limit and the changes required me to use creative abbreviations and thrifty use of spacing. I procrastinated fighting with the sig structure again

finasteride is out and dutasteride is in effective 30 days ago.

Using less minoxidil products, 1.5 ml per application versus the prior 2 ml. Dropped the 7%/Saw P, now using only Xandrox and no Saw P products. Effective 2 weeks ago. No longer applying 12% xandrox to all of the front portion of hair, only to the hairline.

Using spironolactone 5% on the front both morning and evening, versus just evening, effective 2 months ago. Using spironolactone 2% all over both morning and evening, versus just evening, effective today. Reduced quantities of 5% applications.

Carry on. :hairy:

Still makes my head spin looken at that biolab

So you use a total of 3ml a day of minoxidil?

How is that Xandrox worken for ya? I have heard very mixed things about it. Not on this forum though, but on another I have heard some horror stories. Plus HairLossTalk.com seemd to have some serious reservations about it on a post not to long ago.

I got mixed results, nothing really to report just yet.

As for HairLossTalk.com, he posted about a month ago that Xandrox was an extremely strong 12% minoxidil product and Bruce Lee had to correct him and point out that it is a 5% minoxidil product but there is a 12% cream available for use on the hairline.

Now, HairLossTalk.com says he has seen many users of Xandrox, and the results have been 50/50 of either great results or male pattern baldness rampaging of hairline. I have been here for over 6 months and I have never seen anyone post either endorsements or complaints about Xandrox. So these anecdotes are not within the past month.

Since HairLossTalk.com thinks Xandrox is a 12% product as of a month ago, and since he said it was too strong only this week, I think this is a simple case of him not being very familiar with the product line. He has consistently refered to Xandrox in a generic sense and not specifically refered to the cream or the liquid topical from what I have seen. No harm, no foul, just that and nothing else.

It's been pretty clear to me that his criticisms have been with respect to the 12% cream, for whatever my opinion is worth.

On another discussion forum I go to every once in awhile I have heard somewhat of the same thing that HairLossTalk.com said. Some people have had some pretty bad results with it where they have applied it. I can't even imagine how my scalp would feel on that :freaked2:

I have been using it as a preventive measure along with propecia and it appears that there are little hairs sprouting up that I have never noticed before. I am using the 12.5 percent lotion as well once a day at night, before I go to bed. It does burn the scalp a little, but after a period of time it doesnt anymore. I dont understand how the products in xandrox could negatively affect you. I havent heard anything but praise on it on another forum, so I dunno.

Well, HairLossTalk.com has seen a lot of users come and go, and I take his experience into consideration. It wouldn't surprise me if 12% Xandrox could cause problems in some people.

It's just that I think when he talks about Xandrox he has not made clear to me whether he is referring to the 5% or 12% formulations, and it always seems to me he's talking about the 12%.

I will no doubt defer to you two, since I am not using it. I was on another site and a guy was posting a very long story about it and a few people chimed in as well. But hey, 4 posts below could have been people praising it for all I know. Trust me I am not bashing it.

Maybe I am the one in the dark then.

Were they talking about the 5% or the 12%?

I am getting to far into two products I know very little about. I was just asking Yeddie his experience on something I don't know a lot about.

On another post Yeddie was discussing his tolerance to topicals once he started using Foligen so I was assuming it as the "key".

Folligen seems to really improve scalp conditions. I like it, but it gives that funny green tint to your skin.
