i thought hair loss was supposed to slow down by mid 30s

i was pretty slow and steady for the past 10 years, with only bit of loss in the front, then BAM! turned 35 and front has been rapidly going. curse my crap genetics :-x

I think hair loss is rather slow for those who start thinning in their mid 30s. If you started losing it in your early 20s then you probably have an agressive type of hair loss. Though in general one has to say that everybody is different when it comes to hair loss.

good point, htown. well, mine started when i was around 25 or so, but it certainly hasn't been aggressive up to this point.

another thing i forgot to mention was that i had been on oral antibiotics for the past 2 years with no hair loss. this mostly started when i went off of the medication :?

So what Norwood are you right now? What Norwood were you before the aggressive receding? Do you have any pictures?

There is suppose to be a correlation between hair loss and your immune system so maybe that's why things are getting worst now that you are not taking your antibiotics. What I don't understand is how you could have taken antibiotics for 2 years. I've always figures antibiotics were only suppose to be used for a short period of time.

i was a norwood 3 before the meds(basically always had a norwood 2/3 look, even when young). i'm still a norwood 3 right now...it's just been thinning in the middle where it wasn't before. i have a picture but it's not hosted anywhere.

yeah, i was on the meds way longer than i should have been. my dermatologist was just trying different things

everyone is different, there is no set standard or pattern really, besides how the hair actually shrinks away

though i did read that there is an age where if you have not had hairloss by X, you will not lose it, though i think it was around 60... hah
