I think my shed has finished - But I was wrong

Over the last week or so I have noticed less and less hair in the bath. During my shed I could see loads of hair once the water had run out. Today for instance I could see maybe 5 hairs in the bath.

I also notice that I can see small hairs around the hairline about 5mm long. Now they appear dark but thin. Not sure if they are hairs that are dying or growing back after a shed. I just can tell tbh.

I hope it's some good news to report. Moving into 8 months on finasteride now with no visible side affects to report.

yeah i know what you mean about the little hairs coming out, do you notice a lot of them just in front of your hairline, and then a couple really random ones like almost a quarter inch from your hairline (like a place i didn't even know my hairline ever was that low)? i really need to know if these are dying ones, or new growing ones!! i haven't devised a plan to figure that one out yet other than looking really close and seeing if i notice ones that i didn't notice before.

I'm getting hairs far from my hairline too. It's growth. I've haven't seen them there for years, and believe me - I've looked really close.

Well my hair does seem to be improving now. The hairs around the temple hairline are growing so that's good. My hair also seems to be thickening up as each week goes by. So at this time I am looking forward to some growth. It's great that it coincides with Christmas. All those parties and thick hair to go with it. It will make me feel more confident. Not that I already confident....

I'll get my hair cut tonight as this will give me a better indication on how I am doing.

I just don't know what the hell is going on. My hair is still thinner than ever before, my hairline seems to have gone awol.

I think a poster said don't be suprised if you lose more hair. I'm not suprised, just gutted. All the progress that I made seems to have been lost.

I have said this before and I will again, I just can't imagine the lost hair growing back. I really can't. Is it a case of me thinking my hair is really sh*t yet other people don't really notice. Is it the fact that I am looking at it more and more because of the shed. I asked some people that other night and they said my hair looked fine. Yeah, it may look fine to them but to me it looks sh*t.

My crown is fine. It's just my hairline and temples gone to sh*t. I'm fed up about it all really.

Month 8 on finasteride. Hope the bastards grows back...

Im going through the same thing on month 8, all you can do is be patient and hope it grows back. I guess at month 12 I will really know if this is working or not.

Hope all turns for the better!

I'm getting some of that as well. I had shedding in that area initially, but this looks like regrowth.

Trax - my shedding has now been going on for almost 2 months now. I completly understand when you say that you cannot imagine that the shedded hair will grow back. The wierd thing is that even though I'm shedding, a bit of my frontal temple shed from the 2-3 month mark is slowly growing back!

This is what I was waiting for to happen but now it seems irrelevant since my hair is pretty thin all over. sigh.

The thing that makes me feel better is that this is perfectly normal and is happening to a lot of us on this board....

Keep the faith.

That is so true, it seems we are all hitting sheds at the same time, which is weird. Maybe it's a seasonal shed but induced by finasteride.

I'm the same as you, I can already see new hairs sprouting up along the hairline but areas that have just gone I could never imagine it growing back.

We just have to stick with it and wait and see.

Just a side note. If my hair was that bad then people would look at my hairline when they talk to me. Thing is that when I speak to people they always look into my eyes. This kind of makes this shed more tolerable I suppose.

Yeah my hairline has changed at the temples. Not sure if it can recover though!
