So is it a fact that if you still have scalp pain on treatments, that they aren't working??

Well I guess it's a sign that the DHT is still doing some damage on my scalp. I'm not sure but I think there is a relation.

I haven't used Kirkland for ages, it really made my scalp even worse. It wasn't just the itch on Kirkland, it made the scalp red and really painful.

GHG,

I am going thru EXACTLY the same thing that you describe. A year back when my hair looked so much better than what it is now and I DID NOT have and scalp pain, itching or tingling. Now I have all 3. I stopped using minoxidil for a few days and like magic the scalp pain and itching disappeared. I have now started using minoxidil only once a day and I feel this works better for my type of scalp. Also after 2 months of EMU oil I swear by that stuff for "fixing" scalp pain. Just mix some with your nizoral or conditioner and you are good to go. Give these suggestions a thought and let me know how they work for you.
Oh one more thing. Some of us on this forum believe that Test like DHT also plays a major role in some people's hairloss, so why don't you give some topical spironolactone a shot. What if it's the testosterone you need to inhibit?

Are you sure emu oil can do that much if it's in your head for only 5 minutes or so? About the topical spironolactone... I like my hair, but I'm drawing the line somewhere  . Too hard to get that stuff and I'm kinda poor atm.

Hi GrowHairGrow….buddy you don’t need to be so much upset..You know my fiance was going exactly through this problem. After a few years we've been together, hardly a few hair flew gracefully on his scalp. His scalp was visible from in between the remaining thin layer of hair. We were in total despair as it was gradually turning into partial baldness. Then I came across this baldness cure Then, it was not less than a miracle—hair loss completely stopped within few weeks and regrowth of hair started within a month. Now it seems as if he is wearing a new look.

So, cheer up

Artista he is CUTE!

Is your pic off to the left of you now VS in the photo a few years back? If so your hair still is very much OK. I think you guys are to hard on yourself!

I have had scalp pain for the past year so that's a good proof that the finasteride isn't working. Every finasteride success story includes the disappearance of scalp pain.

I have this god aweful miserable scalp pain curse and i know it goes along with the hair loss, but doctors think its a psychological condition, that causes the pain as a reaction to the fear of hair loss. I think my doctor should be shot what a dimwit, scalp pain is due to inflammation!!!!!!!!! My pain started first then the hair loss followed! Does your pain worsen with stress? Mine does Oddly enough scalp massage seems to help, I think its due to a blood flow problem from this whole DHT thing and the vessels like constrict or perhaps its just inflammed follicles from DHT

I don't know about the stress, the scalp pain just comes and goes. Some days my scalp feels okish, just a little tingling and then some days it's like a mayhem up there. The scalp rarely feels totally normal. Wish I knew what's causing it, could be an allergic reaction but I'm not sure. I'm not aware that I would be allergic to anything.

And yeah, the pic on the left is taken a month ago, and the picture in this thread is from one year back.

Honey your absolutely adorable, honest to God. I know the hair is loss is very hard to deal with at times, I feel all you guys pain just in a female perspective.

The scalp pain I think is the inflammation associated with the DHT attack on the follicle. Its almost like an immune response when you get hurt, I think its the same for the follicles, however what puzzles me is how some dont get any pain and others do, one would think we all should get it. I just do not understand this at all.

Someone has to study this more because my Doctor told me that she gets lots of hair loss patients complain of the pain so its common! The other a**h** I saw told me to see a shrink and that nobody gets scalp pain. Just goes to show how much is NOT known about this whole process. I do think those doctors should give up medicine jerks!

Yeah I know how you feel, my derm didn't really seem to understand the scalp pain issue at all. He gave me some lotions but it's so hard to keep up with them, besides they're not to be used for long periods of time anyway. I used betamethasone for about a month and I think it helped some, but when I had to stop it the pain came back. My family doesn't understand how much it bugs to have itchy scalp 24/7, I can't really concentrate on anything. That's why I'm very tense at times, it's such a "sensitive" area to have pain in, especially when you know it's because you're balding.

The pain and itching is ENTIRELY due to DHT. Revivogen twice a day *should* if not get rif of it reduce it.

I can't afford Revivogen, it's such an expensive product.
