Should i drop avodart and go back to finasteride??????
The main problem is i thin very much in the fromt have a 3 by 3cm circle in the front and have a receding hair line with a thinning vertex.

Nothing seems to be working... Also my bro has been using finasteride for about 3-4 years and is still thinning but slowly, what should i do?

If you have tried everything and nothing is working then there may be not much else you can do. If the big 3 (finasteride,Nix and Min) don't work then you are going to struggle to find something that does I'm afraid.

Unless anyone else has any bright ideas?

Have u been shampooing regularly with Nizoral 2-3 times a week on those 1.5yrs on Finasteride?

I think you should get back on Finasteride. Shampoo your head with nizoral 2-3 times a week..NOT DAILY.

Add 5% Minoxidil to your regimen. Apply it twice a day religiously.

Give this big 3 a shot together...and if you can atleast maintain what you have on your head after 1 year mark, then its a success.

If you are really depressed about hairloss and your appearance...you can use some cosmetics. Toppik, couvre, dermatch, prothik, hair so real etc.
Google them!

if it were me, i would get back on the propecia. did you at least maintain for the most part on that year of propecia? if so, then perhaps your hair is now more free and clear of DHT, and the minoxidil may really go to town regrowing hair without that DHT interference. I would give propecia/minoxidil/ and nizoral only 2-3 times a week for six more months. after that, maybe try and take the plunge into the adovart. lots of people rave about the copper peptides, so you may want to throw that into the mix since you are already having to apply topicals now anyway. stay strong my man.

a few things strike me about your post....

firstly, youve only just started minoxidil. minoxidil is a powerful regrowth stimulant. you need to give this at *least* 9 months to 1 year to assess your situation properly. stay on either finasteride or avodart, up to you. you need a solid dht blocker in there constantly. hopefully minoxidil will do the rest of the work. stick with it - 2x a day application everyday without fail. im sure your hair will be better for it come one years time. minoxidil has worked wonders for a lot of people.

also, you said you shampoo your hair every day with nizoral. what!?!! nizoral is pretty strong. it says on the leaflet of the 2% version "DO NOT USE MORE FREQUENTLY THAN DIRECTED", and there it advises 1x per week. use it 2-3x per week *maximum*, never every day. use a mild shampoo, maybe baby shampoo, on other days, and have one day where you give your hair a rest and just wash with water.

im sure youll be fine if you stick with the big 3 religiously, and stick with it for a year. best of luck.

You might supplement propecia use with a topical like revivogen or the POTENTIALLY very powerful Eucapil (as viperfish mentions). I highly doubt that propecia by itself would be as effective as propecia coupled with a quality topical dht inhibitor/anti-androgen.

Propecia wasn't working for you after 1.5 years. Still, although it wasn't producing results, you'll want to have it as part of whatever new regimen you devise. Although it may not have stopped your loss, it may have slowed it down in ways that you wouldn't notice, since you don't have a control version of yourself to feed placebos to. But you're asking about whether to continue on Dutasteride. Well, I won't pretend to be an expert on all the side-effects that it can cause. But I'm curious as to how long you used it for. Did you give it ten months or a year like you should give any treatment -- especially finasteride and dutasteride? From what I've seen in these forums, people experience some pretty heavy sheds over the first six months on dutasteride. Go look at Slartibartfast's diary; he's been on it almost a year, I think, and he's detailed all his shedding and regrowth experiences along the way. I'd say (with the added disclaimer that I'm not an expert on potential side effects) that you can't really know whether Dutasteride is doing the trick for you unless you give it a lot of time and ride out the sheds. Whether that's worth it to you, given potential sides and the inevitable anxiety of major sheds, I'm not sure.

No please don't mix them! I have tried that one and it just makes you shed  tried it for 4 months. If you are going to stay on dutasteride it does take sometime to build up in your system so a couple of months will not do. The only way for you to start to see any result (and I am only talking about a shed) on dutasteride in a couple of months is if you take a loading dose for about 10 days of about 1.5mg of dutasteride a day you might see if you are going to have side effects a lot quicker that way to. I hope this helps but I would give the minoxidil, finasteride and nizoral a chance first. I have been on dutasteride for almost a year now with nizoral for the last 6 months, only use nizoral 3 times a week at most.
