For anyone thinking of taking the drug I'd advise to read the actual studies and educate your self on the facts rather then being scared by one guy's uneducated ranting on an internet forum. People do get sides but those people are in the minority. Also non of the studies say that finasteride can cause things like dementia. Why scare yourself about things that are frankly unlikely to happen anyway?

come on if you're going to call someone ignorant at the minimum you have to spell "your" correctly.

i for one am glad this thread was posted. quite obviously those already taking the drug don't want to hear this

"Terrible side effects, watery c*m, lowered sex drive, muscle weakness, mental fatigue, brain fog, reduced gym performance..."

etc... but for those of us who may take it at some point, just hearing again and again "its great!" is not helpful when clearly it isn't for a good number of people. all info is good info

Oh goodness a single typo, please forgive me.

This post is full of misinformation. The number of people with significant sides is at most 10%, and that's being extremely generous. Him stating regrowth isn't possible is just factually incorrect.

Being bald makes you dry up any pussy you walk by unless you look like Kelly Slater, and you don't.

I'm not the grammar police, but when you see "YOU'RE IGNORANCE" it's kind of funny. You know?

I'm not saying everything he wrote is accurate, particularly the idea that his hair will be fine without medication... clearly it may not be. But what is useful is hearing about his sides and experience with the drug. As it is also useful to hear about people's positive experiences with it. Obviously anyone can read a study. Reading about someone's firsthand experience in a forum is a different kind of data and also certainly has a place.

I completely agree that anecdotes have some use, but this thread is a bit ridiculous.

Let's recap.

According to OP:

All users get the same sides he does.
Neither Propecia nor Rogaine grows hair, only maintains.
A 20 year old with detectable hairloss will keep their hairline for years. (Lol)
Propecia can cause dementia. Never shown in even one single case in over 20 years.
Seems pretty delusional.

To OP: I'd literally bet my entire 401k your hairline is destroyed by 35. Probably more like 28 though, and that would be pretty slow even considering you're balding this early.

Oh let's not forget he feels better only 3 days off the meds. He took it longer than 6 months. His DHT is still waaaaaaay below baseline. 5AR takes at the very least 7 days to return. Watery semen is a given when the prostate shrinks. The rest of his sides are more than likely physchosomatic if he's feeling better before his DHT is even back. Too much obsessing over his hair and the situation in general probably.

Or perhaps the sides were not psychosomatic, but he's feeling better that he's off the drug and his body is reacting to that. Like someone with a fever getting some good news and forgetting about the ill feeling for a while.

I agree about the other speculation regarding what happens to other users, what these drugs do or do not do in general etc. When I read these forums I'm interested in people's direct experience, and otherwise pretty much discount all their theories about the science... I have an actual doctor I can ask about that ;) ... as should everyone
