Ever since I got back on Propecia after having to stop it for four days for being in the hospital, my hair loss in the course of two weeks has gotten so bad so fast I am convinced that this is not a shed but hyperandrogenicity my skin and hair is oily but no raging libido or increased body hair. I almost back at baseline and have a feeling it is only going to get worse. You think if I lower it to .5 or .25 I should be okay? Or do I need to stop for a couple of weeks and then try again? This is just making me so frustrated and sad.:(

Damnit, so close to beating this. :thumbdown2:

I think I might be overreacting or my worse fear is true and I am about where I was between 5 and 6 months on finasteride and only going to get worse.

The first one is two weeks after my massive shed that is still going on.

The second one is Here is a few days after starting my massive six month shed that I didn't get better from in till 7 to 7 1/2 months.

I know there not the same angle, hair length, or lighting but I am just at a loss at where my hair is and it is scaring me. Still I plan to take .25 of Propecia just because my scalp/hair/and forehead have been doused in sebum.

You are overreacting and I would have never lowered your dosage. I did that and things got even worse. I would stay with one Propecia per day. If you could go back and read my PAST posts, you will find my overreacting too exactly in the same manner and time frame as yourself. Just stick with your normal dosage and add minoxidil. That's enough for now. You don't have aggressive hair loss and if you keep worrying about it, you will have Telogen Effluvium at the same time. My hair has IMPROVED finally by going back on minoxidil and taking Propecia. I really don't enjoy using minoxidil but it seems to thicken up my hair so if I want thicker hair I have to deal with it. I have been using the hairchi ( I really like how that stuff thickens the hair) and now the AG serum and my hair is definitely looking healthier. If this serum works as well as the good doctor says for minor diffuse thinning, I will be in a position that I never have to think about a transplant for a long time or ever. My shedding has definitely decreased as well. Take my advice Obsidian, I have already made mistakes along my journey. Why should you make the same ones as I did?

What scares me is what I mentioned above, I never really had sides in till this month and it's genuinely got me worried. My scalp is very oily, it's never been this oily and some of my body hair has come back. I am thinking if maybe my scalp condition improves, then my hair will get back to normal.

The weather is changing. I am sure Texas humidity is not much different from Florida. Lately, my skin is so much more oily and my hair is too. You have to consider that. Just stay on your medication at least for 12 months to 15 months.

Obsidian, honestly based on the photos you posted it doesn't even look like you have any hairloss or would require Propecia.

Thus not sure why you are taking Finasteride in this case... if for preventative measures, your body is probably compensating since you don't really need it and is now producing a state of reflex hyperandrogenicity.

I'd be more inclined to think you have a body dysmorphic disorder where you believe you are suffering from a cosmetic problem when in fact there is none, and are self-medicating for no valid reason. Just my opinion based on the photos you've posted.

No, I hate to use something of what IBM said but but 'pictures lie for diffuse thinners'.

Yeah I have been reading up on past threads and it sounds like it is not uncommon to have terrible sheds around this time. I feel like a Mo-ron for cutting down my dosage and possibly screwing with my hormones more.

Should I finish the last bit of .25mg Propecia and then start back on 1mg Propecia?

Just go back on a full Propecia now. The sooner the better.

I agree with DoctorHouse advice, and I would stick to the game plan dammit all.

And here is some more of my 2 cents worth.

*Your acting a little bit bi polar or I don't no I am no expert.

*In a matter of speaking no one needs all that DHT anyway because eventually it would eat away at your hair, so taking Propecia is the best thing you are doing to help yourself in that regard.

*I hate to confuse you more but from the photo, (from the photo) I don't see why you would need minoxidil and seems to early on, but I have not looked at all the photos.

I still have a lot of hair I am not going to lie I am just thin in all the areas, that's one good thing I guess about this is instead of thinning out rapidly I have been thinning out progressively which is still bad but nowhere near as bad as receding fast and thinning too. Still better to catch it now instead of wait later till I am in big trouble and the horseshoe outline is very apparent. The reason I want to add minoxidil is it could really thicken things up for me.

Anyway, I just get scared and like I said, my worst fear is just all of the sudden it turns aggressive. I have noticed though since getting out of the hospital I haven't nearly been getting enough sleep as usual. Plus school worries since I had to miss a week, add on this really terrible diet (three meals instead of five small meals that involves a lot of high glycemic foods since they're not high in fiber and fiber + pancreatitis = not good) and the lack of exercise I want.

Eitherway this current shed/shedding has made me lose a lot of my gains. :thumbdown2:

i would stay consistent with your regiment

and try not to to pay attention to any short run losses or gains until after a substantial amount time ....like every 6 months

your doing every thing you can for now \

i wish you luck
