hi bleach,
When i said stop masturbating, i was referring from my own experience. I started masturbating at 15 and when i was 17 i noticed hair thinning , so i went to a doctor. The doctor said it could be due to stress. Then for an year I stopped masturbating completely, and what i realized is that my hair got "slightly" thicker and that was evident from my school id card photos and also by hours of personal mirror checking everyday for one year, under all sorts of lights. I started doing it again at 19/20 till now (23) but i have stopped it now and its been 6 days since i have stopped. The other reason why i say masturbation can cause harm is because i notice all the symptoms getting worse if i increase the frequency of ejaculation, e.g. heart palpitations, indigestion, constipation, joint pain, muscle ache, eye floaters, irregular heartbeats, dark eye circles, face swelling in morning, depression and anxiety. When i stopped masturbating completely for one year ALL those symptoms eased away and i was doing brilliantly at school once again and my stamina in sports increased as well, i could run 4.3 km in 16 minutes.
Thats my personal experience and if you research on the web you will find similar experiences from "thousands" of people. Another fact is that men that were castrated (testicles removed at puberty) never went bald, not even if they bald genes in the family. That suggests that testosterone plays an important role in hair loss. This also makes sense because post and pre world war II studies done in Japan show that baldness has increased significantly in men in Japan. Pre-world war Japanese men had a traditional lifestyle and many of them practiced abstinence and many were on low fat vegetarian diets. I have seen something similar in India , since i stayed there for a while. I noticed that the village men had fewer cases of baldness (this has also been noted in various studies) compared to the rich (city) Indian society. The farmers in northern India mainly grow wheat and also used licorice in their diet. Wheat and licorice are known to reduce testosterone in body. Farming community also practice abstinence, have vegetarian diets and have extreme exercise routine from 5am to 6pm daily (working out on farm).
I know my family history very well upto my both granddad and his brothers and none of them have even lost a single strand of hair ( imean never even receded) till their 80's. My hair loss is diffused un-patterned hair loss , very typical of illness related hair loss. I have all the symptoms of Hypothyroidism too.
Bleach you should ask your doctor to perform thyroid tests TSH, thyroid antibody test, colistrol levels and all the other tests for zinc , iron and phosphates.
Your hair does not look abnormal right now and I believe you will see some regrowth if you go on propecia.
Good luck
