I can't take propecia any more, so would using spironolactone to block DHT and Minoxidil to grow be a good way to start?

ereed,

Why have you chosen to discontinue finasteride?

I am not aware of the effectiveness of spironolactone. There are many claim that its works as both an oral and topical. I would not use it personally until a product of it has been properly evaluated for safety and effectiveness by the FDA.

Minoxidil is okay. It's a weak regimen though to use minoxidil and to not have an effective dht blocker like finasteride.

spironolactone with minoxidil is a good regimen, but how effective it will be is relative to each individual. Mainly because it depends on the aggressiveness of your hair loss. If the hair loss is aggressive, spironolactone and minoxidil may not be enough and will certainly be inconvenient if let's say that loss is diffuse thinning. spironolactone is inconvenient to use unless you're only applying it to a small area of the scalp (frontal thinning and/or temples).

I had sexual side effects from the finasteride that I was not willing to deal with. I don't think my male pattern baldness is too aggressive, I have thinning in the front and at the temples so I think using spironolactone and Rogain should work for me. Thanks for the input.

how about reading the regimens of the most trustworthy sounding posters, and skip the finasteride if you got sides from it. And read my website.
