1.5 months after starting propecia , I just got the results.

Everything seems ok but,
I have : PROLACTIN - 602.05 M/UL .

Seems the normal amount is between -50 to 380, I have that doubled.

Is that have anything to do with my hairloss which began suddenly few months ago ?
Is it because of propecia ? or MSM ?

thank you

See a better Doctor, or get your doctor to send you to a specialist.

Worst thing people do is to not ask their doctor to help out.

Trust.. It's from the propecia, and heightened prolactin levels can cause gyno overtime.

But the good news is a dopamine antoganist like 'selegeline' can lower prolactin levels significantly.

If you don't have side effect I wouldn't stop Propecia.

I'm pretty sure prolactin is a mammary produced hormone. Im surprised everything is normal.

Then again, 'normal' is just the average of an unhealthy population in general.

Prolactin stimulates the body to begin lactogenesis when can cause lactation of the nipples (yes even in the male body) and can produce gyno. Heightened levels of prolactin does seem to be a relatively common side effect of Propecia and myself personally I wouldn't leave it alone.

Dopamine antagonists usually lower prolactin levels pretty significantly... i use deprenyl myself.

Look up "Cabergoline", "Bromocriptine", or "Selegeline".

yeah, not everyone should be using 5 different drugs in order to offset each other's side effects
