Hi guys, (sorry about my spamming earlier - had to get 4 posts)

Basically, I've noticed some sort of hair loss on my hair, it starts from the direction of my cowlick and goes different directions.

Funnily enough it makes the back of my head (like not the crown, underneath that - just above my neck) look very very very thin. I had to cut my hair short to 2mm because I was that paranoid.

I went for a blood test, and was told I had low Vitamin D and Iron - Was given supplements. However was told I could be having male pattern baldness.

My question is, could it be something else? My doctor refuses to send me to a dermatologist - he said I had male pattern baldness just by looking at it? I seriously don't believe him as my hair loss is at the back of my head.

Could it be something else? Or should I just stick with my supplements are hope everything turns out better. I'm going university next year, so really paranoid that I may be judged based off my hair :( I know it sucks, but the media makes us feel this way which is ****.

Thank you.

It's already hard to find a qualified dermatologist when it comes to hair loss, let alone family doctors.
I think you should contact a specialized one, a trichologist, able to do a trichogram so that you will know immediately if you have miniaturization or not. He can also do a scalp biopsy if necessary.
Don't apologize for spamming - people are here to help :)

If it is Male Pattern Baldness, is it likely to spread fast? i.e. will it make a big difference if I wait it out 6 months?

Depends how aggressive your hair is. Waiting even one year will result in losing ground you can possibly never make up.

male pattern baldness that appear at young age tend to be more agressive, but we never know. Do you have bald family members, and if yes, when did it start for them ?
But honestly I've never heard of this kind of pattern before in male pattern baldness world

Yeah. I think I might just try out Iron and Vitamin D, along with some Biotin, and Coconut Oil, and a lot of prayers to god.

I just turned 18 too. I don't mind getting male pattern baldness in 2020 when I hope there's some cure out there. But now?? I'm already quite chubby, Propecia will make me even more fatter :(

Nono. Don't pray. Biotin won't save you. And don't panic, you're not sure you have it yet ! Get to see a trichologist, ask for his opinion and keep us updated :)
