Anyone think topical minoxidil is more effective than oral? I recently switched and dropped topical cold turkey. I feel like my hairline is looking worse but it’s only been a couple of weeks. Curious any longer term oral ushers after dropping topicals.

also not helping is a dropped Dutasteride while my wife and I are getting pregnant

Oral should not be a problem at lower doses of less than 5 mg. Start with low dose of 1.25 mg, if you will. It has shown more effective in many patients, who were non respondents to topical, few of members on the thread even started the liquid minoxidil at 1-2 drops daily which gave results to them and found it cheaper and easy to procure than tablets. Mind you that there might be shedding initially.

I wouldn’t recommend dropping topical completely. Use it once a day in addition to oral minoxidil. Oral minoxidil is definitely more powerful, however. Give it some more time

I used topical+dermarolling plus 10mg oral min for like a year, they stopped making the minoxidil foam i liked last year(qgain) so i stopped topical, my hair didn't suffer much from it. Im now on 5mg oral min.

How's been results when you were only on topical?

Would you advice starting foam or liquid min like kirkland?

Ive been on finasteride but it didnt do sh*t for me, so now i guess im forced to hop on minoxidil

What are your results like?

ive only been taking minoxidil for 10 days. I haven’t experienced any shed, and I don’t think I will. I didn’t on topical minoxidil, so I expect my reaction to oral will be similar. I dropped my 2x a day topical minoxidil, as it’s just not worth it. so now I only apply 1ml in the evening. The only thing I’ve noticed is just how little hair comes out of my head. My no means was I shedding profusely before oral minoxidil, but I struggle to get more than two hairs out of my head when I rough up my hair.

I think oral functions better for me, I do take the liquid at 0.1 ml per day. Topical didin't do sh*t for me even after a year.

I had a really bad shed on oral min, not as bad as letrozole shed but still bad. Maybe you won't experience the same.

Yes, it is getting stable at this point. Regrowth is not cosmetic, but I dermaroll regularly and in the next few months I will update.
