I don't think my thinning is totally DHT related...

I've been on 1 mg finasteride per day for 7 months now, minoxidil and nizoral for the same period of time, and just lately I've started using revivogen. Still my hair is aggressively thinning, and my scalp feels like a disaster area. Before I shower each day the flaking is disgusting. I can run my hands through my hair on my scalp and even find large crusty scab-like buildup. I'll scratch that yellowish crap off and a few hairs will come with it. (sorry for grossing you guys out by the way). I need to make an appointment with a dermatologist to get this looked at, but it really makes me feel as if DHT isn't the total culprit. Matter of fact, I'm almost ready to throw in the towel and start believing the "candida" theory that is promulgated by alternative health freaks. Seriously, no one in my family has had hair issues similar to mine, and I fit the qualifications of a candida victim to a T. Perhaps I should just go to the derm and maybe get my blood checked or somethin, but has anyone else had experiences like this and/or sought an alternative treatment (to go along with finasteride/nizoral/minoxidil)?

That's my rant.

Ah. You mean French Algeria.

I considered candida for myself because I have a yeast intolerance but as treatment of it involves giving up:

* Alcoholic beverages.
* Caffeine.
* Cheese.
* Chocolate.
* Fruits (except for grapefruit, lemon, lime, tangerines, strawberries, cranberries, kiwi, currants, mangoes, bananas & fresh pineapple). Includes fruit juices.
* Refined Sugars.
* Left over food (which may contain mold even if refrigerated).
* Mushrooms
* Nuts.
* Soda Pop
* Yeasts.
o Foods enriched with yeast (crackers, pasta, etc.).
o Breads that contain yeast.

I think I'd rather go bald. Have to draw the line somwhere.

yeah, go to the derm, maybe you have some scalp psoriasis or something... dht probably causes some itch in male pattern baldness (we all seem to report that) but you may have something else...
