Hi.
Norwood 2 here, on finasteride 1mg for nearly 2 years, male pattern baldness is stopped by the finasteride but no real regrowth, still lot of hairs in the shower.
I stopped cigarette 5months ago (Smoked 10 cig a day) for 4 weeks I had regrowth of huge amount of small hairs with a NW1 pattern and no shedding anymore, not a single hair lost;
I thought it was because of finasteride 1mg, people say it starts working at 1-2years. I was happy.
Then I smoked again (=/) and the shedding was violent, all the small hairs which were now 1cm to 2cm long were lost in 2weeks of smoking (average of 10cig per day) scalp started to be unhealthy again, shinny etc... I then started to realize the huge impact of cigarette over male pattern baldness.
Again, I stopped smoking 2weeks ago and the small hairs are coming back...
The repetition of those experiences without changing any other factors shows the direct and huge effect of tabacco over male pattern baldness.
You need to use finasteride like I did.
I want to tell smokers, treated with finasteride, that they can greatly improve the regrowth of hair, especially if they suffer of poor circulation (cold hands, pale face/skin) due to tabacco.
But the withdrawalmust be COMPLETE, because the circulation effect happens at a very small amount of nicotine/CO, even 1 cig slows circulation for hours.
You can do sports regularly, like HIIT, in order to enhance your circulation.
