I’m new to this forum and I think I want to start treatment now so that I can stop it early. I’m 21 and have been thinning at the temples since I was about 18. Now it looks like all the hair in front (I believe it’s called the apex) is thinning too. There is no loss on the vertex, so I guess I’m a Norwood 2 or 3. I’m not sure what course I should take. It still looks ok and I would be happy just to keep what I still have, but I’m also not sure if I’m just taking after my father, who has no hair at his temples but for years has kept all the rest at the front, sort of like Kevin Spacey or Larry King. I wonder if it would be a waste of money to start treatment if I would have just taken after my dad and kept what I still have anyway.
But either way, I’m already using Nizoral twice a week and I think I will start on finasteride. I guess my questions are: where is the best/cheapest place to get proscar? And has anyone had any good experience with finasteride on the frontal and middle parts of the scalp, because I hear it’s mainly designed for the vertex.
