How to remove seborrheic dermatitis flakes from hair ?

You people must know what I am talking about. The medium sized yellowish crusty flakes which leave the scalp but tend to get caught up in your hair. When you try to remove them you end up taking out a few strands of hair too which happen to be attached to the flakes. i want to know if there is any way that I can take out these flakes without losing any hair. I've already lost a considerable amount of hair due to this seborrheic dermatitis and dont wan't to lose anymore since I am just 19. Please help me out here people.

i just read some dude would brush his hair consistently to keep skin off, he says this made his hair grow back too but that may be getting your hopes way too high.

Have you tried T/Gel shampoo?

Maybe massage them out in the shower when they're soaked and soft.

I used to get those, and they really are a b**ch to remove. Those yellow flakes floating around my hair. Haven't got those since I changed my diet to low-carb and started using effective shampoos.

I have tried one of those. It was pretty good, actually. Unfortunately my derm told me it wasn't for long-term use so I quit it. My derm is a jerk, though so I don't know if I should've believed him. To my experience, a shampoo with ciclopiroxolamine, zinc pyrithione and keluamid (Ducray Kelual DS shampoo) is great.

Don't know why your derm told you to quit, if it actually worked. I guess putting it on every other day for 2 minutes can't be bad.
