How to reduce or get rid of shine from poly base in a parting?

I wear my hair system in a central parting usually. It's lace front with poly/thin skin for the rest. It looks great but sometimes under certain lighting I notice a bit of shine on the parting area. Are there any products or other ways to help reduce or get rid of the shine from a poly/thin skin base? There is no adhesive on the parting area btw (I only attach round the perimeter of the system). Thanks.

The lack of adhesive is the problem. You will need to bond it down to get rid of the plastic look.

You could try NYX Shine Killer too. It's a pre-make-up serum that women use to reduce shine on their faces. Don't use it on the hairline/border because it destroys the bond (very effectively I might add).

Ok. So use some Walker 'no shine' tape or similar?

I currently use Supertape (1 inch wide) to attach the back and sides, and Ghostbond Platinum for the hairline. I get up to 4 weeks hold with the Supertape no problem, and I redo the hairline about once or twice a week. I wonder if Walker 'no shine' would last for 4 weeks? Or maybe I could try some Supertape or glue for the parting area.

Ok. So I'd apply this product to the surface of the hair system parting (hair side of the system, not base side) after I've attached it?

Dunno about tape, because I use white bond like Ghost Bond. You could use tape as normal on the perimeter and then some Ghost Bond for the parting. Though I wonder, you must be bonding the poly down somehow anyway, else it would feel horrible with just the perimeter bonded. That's the whole point of poly - a full bond makes it feel so natural and tight, like it is your own scalp.

IF you need to use NYX Shine Killer, yes this would go on top of the parting/surface, not under it.

The better option is to bond down the poly entirely, or at the very least where the parting is.

Not at all. It's tight and flush against my scalp even in the areas where it's not bonded down. I've managed fine with it bonded round the edges. I could try some Ghost Bond in the parting, although I'm not sure I'd get 3 to 4 weeks out of Ghost Bond before it breaks down, so it might defeat the object. I won't know unless I try, though.

My other thought about bonding the parting is that it could potentially create another edge/bump/ridge but we'll see.
