How To Make Swiss Lace More Undetectable To Touch?

Finally got my system installed yesterday after years of being on the fence. Overall looks great, though there are a few things I'll tweak for the next one. Hairline completely undetectable even from 2 inches away (went thru a lot of trouble in designing the system for this result).

That said, I can DEFINITELY feel it is raised from my skin with my fingers when I try to feel for it at the hairline.

Noah or other experts - what would one do to reduce this tactile feeling? I used 2 layers of glue.

Also note I don't really give a sh**. My gf knows I wear and she never carefully touches my hairline anyway. But more out of curiosity.

Hi esc, congrats on taking the plunge! It sounds like it was a big success. What does the gf think of the new look?

A few thoughts on undetectability of the hairline to the touch:

- it has to be a snug fit in size and curvature, Any excess of base material will be felt, so you will get a better result from a custom unit made from a close-fitting template.

- it is best to cut the lace right up to the front hairs, leaving no more than a millimetre of lace in front. This does gradually result in the frontal hairs fraying and falling out, so you have to keep trimming the hairline. That is the price you have to pay for tactile undetectability.

- it has to be a glue attachment; not tape. I find two layers is best, and then you press the edge of the lace hard into the tacky glue with the teeth of a comb held sideways. A steel comb works best.

- you can cut the very front hairs short (a couple of millimetres) so that they sit as a thin layer of baby hairs at the hairline, so someone touching your hairline will be touching them rather than the edge of the lace (I should say that I don't personally do this, but I have talked to guys who do).

- it is easier if you have a brushed-forward style. I find that brushing the frontal hair forward and then flipping it up with a bit of gel is the best.
