Hey,
I've been loosing my hair for a couple of years but slowly. However the last couple of months I've developed and intense itching and tingling sensation in the scalp, mainly in the areas affected by the male pattern baldness (I'm a diffuse pattern thinner) and in the same time my hairloss has been progressing aggressively. I also have mild folliculitis and lately very dry hair, as if the sebum production has gone down a lot. And some generel redness and inflammation.
I've heard that a lot of people have this DHT/balding itch. But when reading on the internet it seems that these symptoms are also associated with scarring alopecia, where inflammation of the follicles is the root cause behind hair loss. So how do we know that this balding itch isn't a sign of scarring alopecia? Is there any way to tell?
