How to get rid of Itch

Started getting a bad itch and big flakes about two years ago. About 1 year ago I started using 1% Nizoral once a week and T-gel (coal tar) about twice a week. That got rid of most of the flakes but still have the itch. I have noticed that days I don't shampoo the itch is not as bad but my hair looks like crap when I don't shampoo. What should I do? Up the T-gel? Up the Nizoral? I am wondering if the Nizoral is even helping. The days I use Nizoral I still itch as bad as ever. Also my hair loss seems to have been worse these last couple years also, however I am over 40 so maybe that should be expected. Maybe I should try to mix in some zinc pyrithione shampoo shampoos? What should I do?

You may want to see a dermatologist then. Make sure you don't have anything else going on.

I did, think his diagnosis was seborrheic dermatitis. He gave me steroid drops. i tried them a few weeks, gave me a headache, really helped cleared the flakes, itching somewhat. I stopped because gave me headaches and not supposed to take a steriod very long. Hoping could do with shampoo.

I was recently recommended "Biocleanse." May want to look into it and see if it's suitable for you.

hey, although I don't have bad itch or flakes but I have a sensitive skin type so hopefully this helps. I use liquid Castile soap as a shampoo(it has no harsh chemicals, but I still shampoo my hair with it as short as possible and about every other day). I use apple cider vinegar (1 to 5 concentration with water) every time I wash my hair. Btw I also use a brush to clean my scalp, I have short hair so it works really well(it helps to gently exfoliate).

nizoral is very harsh so if I were you I would use it once a fortnight. You aren't taking any DHT blockers internally so you should start taking some. DHT in the scalp causes a secondary inflammation response which causes the itch and redness.

I would also recommend using oils (emu, grapeseed, pumpkin seed) they will help moisturize the skin. Pure Aloe Vera gel (straight from the leaf) will definitely get rid of the itch. I used to use emu oil+peppermint oil and that is really soothing and helps heaps. I still use it sometimes.

hope this helps. btw do you have short or long hair?

Short hair. Where do you get all the products you listed above?

You should be able to find everything in a health food store. The brush I use for cleaning my hair I got from a pharmacy (it's a baby brush lol). The Castile soap brand I use is Dr. Bronner's Castile soap. All the other oils, doesn't matter what brand they are. The grapeseed is actually a common cooking oil you should be able to find in a supermarket. As for the dht blockers any resveratrol supplement is good enough, the main ingredients in the multivital solution I take are saw palmetto and nettle, so you can get those individually.

The oils, use them overnight so it doesn't make you look greasy out in public.

Well, if your hair is short you could use the same regimen I'm using. I'm not sure if you came to this forum to regrow hair or just get rid of the itch. The regime I'm using gets rid of itch completely...haha the inevitable byproduct of that is great regrowth (they go hand in hand actually, the worse your hair is the worse the itch, the better your hair is the less itch).

Would these products work well for Emu and Aloe Vera?

http://www.amazon.com/Moisturizing-Stretch-Refined-Radiant-Younger/dp/B00JX979CQ/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

and what about an Aloe Vera shampoo like
http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Gate-...=1404744959&sr=1-1&keywords=aloe+vera+shampoo

or

http://www.amazon.com/Jason-Natural...=1404744959&sr=1-2&keywords=aloe+vera+shampoo

The thought of using Aloe Vera gel in my hair kind of freaks me out.
