How to get best price on Propecia (not generic)

So I went to a dermatologist for the first time recently and got a prescription for Propecia. I started calling around, and the price for 30 pills seems to go for like 75-80 dollars, which is way more than I was expecting. Is there a good place to go to get a lower price on this prescription? Note: I know you can get generic finasteride in 5mg, but my doctor wouldn't write me a prescription for it.

go to a general practitioner to get one...derms seems to be nothing but a waste of money & time in the long run.

But if you're stuck with propecia...call Costco or Sam's Club.

what cassin said, but also because why would a dermatologist want to prescribe a dose meant for prostate issues? I can't blame a dermatologist for not prescribing the 5mg variety.

you have to explain that you know to only take a fourth of the pill.

I did this. She said she didn't want to prescribe it for me because it's hard to cut the pills evenly, and that I may experience side effects from the inaccurate dosages that I wouldn't from the exact 1mg pills.

Also, I'm kind of worried that I could pay to go to another doctor, and just have him/her do the same thing.

I wouldn't doubt doctors get kickbacks from writing brand name drugs. My doctor had no problem writing the 5 mg. In fact, when I mentioned trying Propecia, it was his suggestion to write the Proscar! Costs $24 for 30, which equals $6/month at 1/4 tablet a day

They certainly do. A buddy of mine is a physician's assistant and he said the drug reps show up with an entire buffet lunch for the office before even attempting to promote their drugs. They pretty much bend over backwards to "convince" the doctors to prescribe their drugs.

go see a different doctor or dermatologist..i didn't even have to ask this dermatologist i visited for the first time they just went ahead and stated i had male pattern baldness pattern and prescribed me to finasteride (i mentioned i may want to get put on propecia) and told me to cut it into fourths..warning about the sexual side affects
