How the heck do I clean my scalp? Help needed

I have a sticky bluish layer of something all over my scalp.

My theory is that the sticky coconut oil I massaged my scalp with last week, somehow remained on my scalp and didn't wash out. The reason for the bluish color is because I also apply Folligen EOD.

How can I get this stuff off my scalp? I shampoo every morning and I still feel the stuff on my scalp. Scraping it off is no fun and this can't be ideal for my hair.

Do oyu guys think it could be the folligen itself layering all over my scalp? I'm doubting that for some reason but who knows...

Any special advice? Special remedy?

Thanks for the help guys...

Thanks Cassin.

Another thing that may hay have contributed to this stuff layering all over my scalp:

For the last month or so, I've been washing my hair with only cold water because I read somewhere (maybe here) that washing hair with hot water is not good.

I'm guessing the hot water is needed to really get some of the stuff off our scalps? Am I theorizing correctly?

What say you?

You read the cold water thing in one of misterE's posts, and it's not true and has no scientific backing.Use warm or hot water without worry. I use this stuff http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001TJZXS on my scalp and it just strips it bare of any oils or topicals I use.

Re: How the heck do I clean my scalp? Help needed...UPDATE

Hey guys,

After doing some research, I think I may have a sebum buildup. Not sure but it's possible.

What does this mean?

I shampoo everyday so I'm not sure how it could have happened. Like I mentioned in a prior post, I was only washing my hair with cold water for a while and was using coconut oil, folligen, toppik on my hair. I think the stuff may have built up.

What do you guys recommend? I massaged my scalp with jojoba oil yesterday and I was able to pull a lot of the sticky stuff from my hair and the scalp itself.

A lot of the sticky stuff was attached to the root of my hair. So I gently held my hair and slipped off the guck as easy as I could.

This is the first time this has ever happened. I think the jojoba oil did the trick and I assume after another wash or 2, my hair/scalp will be back to normal.

But is this cause for concern or does type of thing happen occasionally?

Thanks

Using warm to cold water has a theory and it is not sh*t as some people here say.
The hot water helps the scalp to produces more sebum and it is not good for your scalp and hair right?! It is quite obvious you don't want sebum getting stucked in your follicles and helping the hair to fall down.
To remove sticky products from ur scalp, try high - cleansing shampoos and warm to hot water for sure to help to remove this oil. It is just the same when you wash a pan full of oil, you need to use hot water to help you washing it. Sounds so simple and people make just a big deal of it.

If you wash you hair daily, always use cold to warm water to prevent the high production of sebum, and don't be a girl who just takes HOT showers! You just need colder water on your head. Simple.

First you say you need hot water, like "washing dishes" to remove oil, then you say use cold water at the end. Either you are using hot water to remove all the "oil/sebum" from your head, or cold, which is it.

Also I want scientific proof showing hot water makes your scalp produce more sebum.

Man, try to read it properly! The guy put some shi*** oil on his scalp and now he can't remove it. For sure he will need to use warm to hot water to help removing it for instance!
But people must wash the hair with warm to cold water in normal situation!!! The guy is not in a normal situation because he has this oil all over his scalp!

If you want more arguments about washing the hair with warm to cold water, visit plenty of doctors and make researches about hair loss for over 5 years like I've been doing! Don't be lazy and find it by yourself!

Going to doctors in your local city doesn't equal proven scientific theory. If you've done 5 years of research, then where are the scientific studies you've read supporting your "cold water" theory. Recorded scientific testing = credibility.

LoL
I've been to doctors in New York, Sao Paulo, London,,,, countless places!
Lets do like this, way easier! You keep using hot water to wash your head alright?
Try to use boiling water too ;) It's proven to remove all the DHT from your scalp!
