How much minoxidil should I apply?

So I just applied minoxidil for the first time, my question is how much I should use? While it says 1ml in the instructions I do not see how this can be universal, I am a Norwood 2 with slight temple recession. I applied some on the temple area and some in the vertex (even though I do not have thin hair there). After my application I had 0.5ml left, should I just increase the amounts I put in each area?

I was going to ask the same myself, I'm only loosing hair in the temples and frontal area, and 0.5ml seems to be enough. I could use the full 1ml but about half of it would end up running down my face.

I'm assuming the dose is dependant on the extent of your hairloss?

Don't take the dose as gospel, they say only use 1ml because that's what they used in the trials and they can't say "use 2ml if you are a norwood 4 and 1 ml if you are a norwood 2 or use 0.5ml on the front and 1ml on the back if your hair is longer than 3 cm..."....and so on. They have to put what they used in the trials on the bottle.

Just use as much as you think is possible to cover the bits where you want to regrow hair. If that is 0.5ml then that's great. If it's 2ml because you have to cover more then that's great too (although a bit more expensive).

Personally i use 1ml when I have short hair and 2ml when I have longer hair to compensate for the stuff that gets lost ON the actual hairs.

what the hell is "specialist shampoo"
BTW, just make sure you can feel the minoxidil cover the area you want to try to regrow hair. Whatever volume that takes is what you should use. What answer did you think you would get.....sorry I simply could not hold back the rude comment. Long day at work........
