I am new to this forum and just started on Big 3 , a month ago and have been following the regimen strictly. I use Ketoconazole on Monday and Thursday( twice a week as suggested by many ) , but when i use minoxidil it gets really flaky the very next day. How often do you guys wash your hair and what shampoo(milder ones) do you recommend along with nizoral ?

Thanks

If you use minoxidil it's best to wash everyday as by the second day your hair gets super greasy . Twice or three times a week is fine for nizoral and then use a non sulphate shampoo the other days

Once a day, every day. Only shampoos I buy are ones which contain Saw Palmetto.

can we know the brands?

Avalon Organics, probably the best one to use as a standard shampoo outside of Nizoral. I use it 5x a week on days I dont use Nizoral.

if someone is intrested in this kind of stuff, i add tea tree/lavender/rosemary essential oils drops in my shampoo, i feel it helps with sebum and make hair shine

i try to have at least 1 day a week where i only take a water shower - no soap, no shampoo, twice a week is ideal.
besides that all the other days in the week i switch between several shampoos, natural, and nizoral.

I think it really depends on your hair type to be honest. I have really dry hair, my friend has really oily hair. If I don't shampoo my hair for 5 days I barely get to the oil level he does in 24 hours. I am currently not using Nizoral type shampoos, and I wash my hair twice a week. Once Sunday, once Wed/Thurs. When I was using nizoral I would first wash with normal Sulfate-Free shampoo to get all the oils out then repeat wash after with Lipogaine Big 3 Shampoo. First wash gets all the oils out, then the Ketoconazole shampoo goes on to do its work.

When I wash my hair all of my hair stands up frizzy and I have to constantly keep wetting it at work to make it go down that day. Washing my hair every day would be a nightmare :freaked2:
