How many times a day do you comb your hair?

And how many times should you do it?

How long is your hair? The longer the hair the more, right?

Brush or comb?

I do once a day in the mornings only, but my 6 inch hair starts looking messy quite quickly with daily activities, wind and laying my head against something and wearing hats which makes the system less blended I think. I should probably do it more. Don't women do it many times a day?

Mine is about 3 inches, Gigitty, but as long as it has been blowdried into shape it's pretty bullet proof and never moves. I don't use any styling products, other than leave in conditioner/oils and a hair dryer. Once I blow dry it into shape then the next day I simply squirt a little water on it, brush it and that's it frozen up again for the day.

That said, mine is only long at the front, and the unit is very dense. If yours is 6" all over then yeah you have to style it accordingly. You can't be out in the wind, lying down, wearing hats all in one day and it not to get a mess. Even 6" bio hair would be a mess after all that.

If you will be out in the wind, blow dry the F out of it, then even if it blows around outside it will settle back into it's default if you flick your hair. if you'll be wearing a hat, again style it accordingly and keep the hat on all day and your hair should stay exactly as it was in the morning.

Your only sure fire way to keep your hair untangled and not messy is either with a hair dryer (to try and give it a default setting to flick back into when it's been blown around) and styling products (such as an oil or some kind of detangling styling product that people with long hair use).

Good luck!

Blowdriers are bad for hair, no? I never use them. Bought an expensive one that has cold air, but stopped using and even lost it lol.

Once in the morning and once after the gym but mostly check and comb the blend if needed.

Possibly more if windy, or needing to look dapper

Yeah, they are indeed. However, if you use a heat protect spray and just have it on low then any damage should be mitigated/minimal. In an ideal world no-one would ever use hair dryer/straighteners etc but many styles are impossible without them.

I'm not sure what kind of style you have, but perhaps with your unit already on you can go to a good salon (a normal one not a hair replacement one) and ask for styling advice. They will be able to advise you how to keep your hair under control.

As many times as it needs combing to keep me looking my best. I'm always gentle when I brush my hair system, though.

Does cold blow drying have the same effect though?
And as I get my hair wet only twice a week I can only do those hairstyles twice a week, no? My hair is 6 inches and it's a mess after sleeping. I doubt anything stays overnight. How long would it even take me to blowdry 6 inch hair? While I let it naturally dry I can continue doing other stuff at home.

Blow dryers are not bad for your hair if you use the cool setting. I get 6-9 months out of one unit (12-18 if I alternate) and I use a blow dryer on cool (French lace unit btw). It makes styling significantly easier. My hair is about 4 inches long around, but closer to 3 inches at the frontal hairline. It’s slightly longer than the pic in my avatar. I’m considering going even longer, down the road.

edit: just updated my profile pic to current hair length.

I use a hair dryer everyday to lock in the style that I like. It's usually to create a brush back style. I use cool air although I know heat can seal in that style faster. The hair dryer also helps if you're looking for a thicker looking hair style. Keep in mind product also goes a long way.

The salon I go to actually encourages them. They even said that it helps the glue get back in place (which sounds contradictory) and helps "fluff the hair back up" (that I have found to be true). They also encourage gel to lock in the style.

I usually brush it just in the morning the first week or two between 3-5 week maintenance visits but after that the hair gets kind of flat and clumps around and I often have to do it again in the afternoon. I also at that point do it before bed in the hope that tossing my head around will mess it up less (mixed results).

Well the glue does need to dry to set back in place yes.
