Interesting. Do you feel that finasteride has messed up your development in any way?

I don't have much facial hair myself. No body hair either. So I'm apparently not done puberty, is this a correct assumption?

That's why I asked my question. If your development hasn't been fucked up, drinkrum, that's a good sign. If I feel confident enough that finasteride won't mess up my further development, I just might feel more confident giving it a go.

Any of you other lads like ole drinkrum here?

Thanks to everyone for your input. It's much appreciated. Cheers.

My facial growth was done by 22, but I did notice some chest hair that developed in my early 20s. It's possible that you just don't have much body hair. I have some Asian friends who are like that. In fact, some of my female Chinese friends haven't shaved a day in their life, and their legs are smooth as silk.

No, puberty in 99.999% of males ends by the age of 17. This doesn't mean that you will not grow any more hair, etc. later in life. Puberty is not to be confused with body/facial hair growth. While during puberty, males usually start growing such hair, the end of puberty does not signify the end of such hair growth.

I don't think finasteride (which I started at age 18) has had any bearing on my facial/body hair. I have a twin brother who is not on finasteride. and has less facial/body hair, as hard as that might be. My mom is naturally very unhairy and my dad didn't grow full facial hair until later.

P.S. If you're worried about penile growth, etc. -- you basically finished growing that by the time you were 16 -- first length (which finished growing even earlier) and then girth.

Cheers.

Wow theres a lot of youngsters on these boards. My facial hair has thickend all through my twenties. It moved higer up on my face after the age of 26 and I now have a very high beard line :-x
Now 33 and it has stabalized. So if you think your facial hair will stop thickening after puberty that may not be the case it can still thicken well into your 20's and early 30's.

lets put it this way...if i ever have as much hair on my head as i do my face right now, then im in huuuuge trouble.

im 20 in 2 months and i have as much facial hair as i did at 16, which is practically nothing.

Ok, this is promising.

This just goes to reinforce my theory that the sexual side effects of finasteride are from some other mechanism than reduced DHT levels. Which is good because I think my DHT levels might be low due to the scanty amount of facial hair I have - although maybe that's due more to low androgen sensitivity than low DHT levels.

Either way, if you boys have very little facial hair and you're doing ok on finasteride, that's promising for me.

Keep em coming.

Cheers.

i dont know if facial hair and dht actually do have a relationship

i am in the exact same male pattern baldness pattern as my dad. From what he says and pictures he has shown, i am losing it at the exact same pace in the exact same way.

He had full facial hair at 16, im almost 20 and got nothing. I dont think there is any relativity based on my experience.

ThE DHT = Body hair theory seems to be based more on correlation than casuality.

I know Asians and Native Americans have less facial and body hair than us Caucasians. I wonder if that's because of lower DHT levels or because of lower sensitivity to DHT???

I wonder if Asians/Native Americans are more prone to the side effects of 5ar inhibitors.

Cheers.
