question -

how many hairs do you loose a day? I know most people come out with I loose a 100 a day but that cant be right! and apparently you loose a "100" a day but im fairly sure thats not just applicable for your head - more or less your complete body,

technically you will be a NW7 and loose 100000 hairs or your complete head in 2.6 years if that was the case.

Personally ive been loosing average of about 8 or so atm, some days might not loose any in the shower none on my hands or in the sink when I dry my hair might have 4 or so when I oil it, throughout the day not alot as well,

Today I had about 11/12 more than average but could this considered stable hair loss, - I am pretty bald though tbh, and ive gone over my 10 year mark since it first fell and now considering a hair transplant

obviously this is also relevant if you take finasteride/ minoxidil etc or are on any other regimen - please state below so others will know.

How are we supposed to know how many hairs we shed during a day? An estimate when showering is maybe what you are asking?

pretty much - most people loosing there hairs will obsess much like myself - im only referring to showering and or using minoxidil or any other oils or hairs on pillow,

basically an average not every strand which may fall out in the wind

I'm showering my hair every day now which means the hairs doesn't really stay tucked in for too long with the other hairs when they have "fallen out" but I think I'm down to 3-8 or maybe closer to 10 at worst, used to be in the 20-30s.

@Nick1990 to be fair nick, if you are half bald then you would probably only lose about half the hairs as a fullhead would.

f*****g hard to even guess. I'd have to save every hair that comes out on my hands in the shower, or into the sink in front of the mirror, etc. Then sweep them all off the floor each day etc.

I don't think this is a really reliable way to tell what's happening with your hair. The amount of hairs we have can vary tremendously from one person to another even at NW1. And the rate of hair growth can vary as well. Faster hair growth and more hairs = more shed, but it doesn't mean more balding.

The bolded is wrong. You do lose on average 100 hairs, but at the same time you are growing hairs aswell. For people without male pattern baldness, it balances out but for those with male pattern baldness you will lose more than you regrow.

I doubt it, prior to 17/18 I never noticed my hair loss only time I noticed hair loss was when I was gelling my hair and noticed 2/3 hairs on my hand, - the start

and I could brush my hair vigorously I had quite long hair - with no strands let alone a 100 dropping out

I grow hair super fast and naturally shed a lot. I'd lose maybe 30-70 hairs in the shower. When I was a young teen, I used to shed like craaazy and today I'm hardly a NW1.
