How Long to Judge Progress of Finasteride?

I started taking a generic finasteride about a week ago and combined it with DHT blocking shampoo and thickening conditioner from CVS. How long should I do this before judging the results? I'm seeing my doctor again in about 90 days so I'm sure if it's not working I can always up the dose of finasteride, but I'd like to be able to judge for myself before then if it's working at all, and would just like to now how long I should expect to wait before seeing any sort of noticeable result. I realize it's not an overnight thing, but I'm sure that in 6 weeks I should have thicker looking/more hair, right?

Different for everyone. I see 6 - 12 months being thrown around a lot. My derm told me 1 year
