How long should I wait until surgery?

I've decided to stop minoxidil and get a surgery. Partially because of scalp irritation/itching that I have seem to developed after 3 years of using it (yes, I use the foam version).

Any idea how long I should wait? Remember reading about a study saying that after 6 months one can safely assume that all minoxidil hairs have shedded. Is 4-6 months a good target?

There is not any specific time span as you mentioned according to the study you read. Still, 6-9 months is a good target. If you have decided to get surgery, then find a good hair transplant treatment in your area. However, if you are still not able to decide, consult with a hair transplant specialist.

Don't schedule surgery if your scalp is irritated, you want the optimal conditions for healing and graft survival.

Go for surgery only if you sure about it

Hair Transplant Surgery is the last solution for treating hair loss issues.

Minoxidil, A synthetic drug that is being used to widening the blood vessels and degrading the hair fall rate. Both female and male can make use of it. Usually this start showing results within 3 to 4 months of usage and if you are using this from last year or more and not getting any result then you must stop it and go for other hair transplant treatment options. There should be a gap of at-least few months before getting into hair transplant.

Usage of minoxidil is not a permanent solution for hair loss.

Are you sure you didn't notice any unwanted hair growth on certain areas.

Let me know proper case study then i may suggest you hat exactly you can do.

OP here again, I've just used minoxidil on my hairline & temples for prevention, honestly not sure if it's worked at all (looking back at the picture I took before I started).

I guess I'll wait until the end of June at least before booking surgery

Since you only used it on your hairline and temples I think the only thing to wait on is the healing of your scalp.
