How long have you used minoxidil on it's own?

Just wondering how long everyone used minoxidil on its own before beginning finasteride

Like other teenagers i thought rogaine by itself would me about 3-4 years on itd own. Used it for 7 months before starting Finasteride. Started shedding at 7 month mark after almost a full recovery as I had pretty little loss.
The itch had returned too. Didn't take me long to realise that Finasteride was the best bet I had to keep my hair long term.
So I jumped on Finasteride. The shedding had stopped at the 4week mark of Finasteride. No sides at all yet. Of course minoxidil is superb and by far the most beneficial treatment for hair thickening. But without Finasteride its pretty useless for long term. Finasteride + Minoxidil works like a charm.

I understand that but I'm facing a serious dilemma, currently 16 and cannot go on to finasteride till I'm 18, so I'm trying to grasp on to minoxidil for as long as I can, do you use both minoxidil and finasteride or just finasteride on its own

Because if I never found out about Dutasteride and then never took the decision to take it, I'd be really close to being bald right now.

u take .5 mg of dutasteride??... and how does it compare to 1mg ED of finasteride.. in terms of strength?
