how long does thin hair last ?

Hello,

how long can thin hair last on your scalp before growing back thicker or simply thinning even more and ultimately die?

I am not taking any treatments , so I am talking about natural biological change.

I don't understand why the thin part of my scalp is remaining that way for more than 2 years now.

Can thin hair remain thin all that time ? is it a good sign that it didn't die?

My shedding history within the two years :

on the two years as far as I can remember I had minimal shedding (very few hair fallen out , maybe less than 50 , shower included) , its peak was for a two months period wherein I was losing maybe more than 100 hair a day , as I am speaking the aggressive shedding is totally gone (since 3 weeks now) , I can hardly exceed 20 hair a day.

Possible triggering factor :
The causes aren't the main subject here but what might have triggered that peak was my trip to europe , means climate change , followed by intense stress.

Thank you

Differs person to person but it s more fast on temples maybe 2 year , for vertex 5 year i guess i noticed first on my vertex still %60 very thick but others are thin or miniaturized basically i would say u will go bald after 5 year from hair loss baseline . Even my Norwood 6 friends gone bald around 2-3 year

thanks for your replies hairchaser and stop dht.

I confirm that my hair loss is extremely slow , I recall my barber pointing out that I had a vertex balding at 17 , I am almost 22 , and that's still at the same stage (almost 5 years , stop dht).

But if it doesn't noticeably fall , I think that's good news , I'll do anemia test tomorrow , I had to postpone thyroid for another day. it might be related to this.

When I took minoxidil for 6 months last year , it didn't even cause my hair "dead hair" to fall out within the first month as mentioned.
