How long does it take to notice hair loss?

I've read that people lose hair for up to 2 to 3 yrs before it becomes visually noticeable.

I really don't believe this theory. I noticed my loss about 4 months ago and my hair has thinned considerably during that time period.

I'm a pretty vain person who takes alot of pride in his looks and I'm pretty sure I would've noticed my hair falling out if it started 2 or 3 years ago.

So my question is how long does a person lose hair until it is noticeable?

It seems that people lose their hair at different rates. Though there is a percentage of loss that is noticeable.

IE you lose 25% of your hair before you notice it's thinning.

It takes about 50% of hair loss in one spot until you will notice that your losing your hair. It seems a lot of hair loss but if you look at it now and this of having twice of much it makes sense.
