Hi, i have gone without minoxidil for 6 days now due to it not arriving in the mail. How long can i go before i am risking a shed? Can someone chime in on what taking a break from minoxidil actually does to the hair and follicles themselves?

Thanks:))

I took an involuntary break for about 7-10 days and didn't notic anything detrimental to my hair... probably because I never responded to it in the first place.

Who knows anymore lol, it seems every effective for some people, for majority you barely get any visible results. You gotta get on dat der finasteride if you really wanna fight this sh*t

I have been on dutasteride for two years:) Got a good head of hair, been using minoxidil all along, so it is hard to see which one is the culprit. I know the AR inhibitor works (no itch etc) but im insecure about the cumulative effect of using minoxidil with it.. I dont want to take a risk either, and lose like half my hair. If i need to use toppik again im going to kill myself lol

As other members made it clear to me when I was also debating on just throwing in the towel with min after my unsuspected break. It barely costs me 200$ a year and takes up about 2 minutes of my night, it would be stupid to not be using 1/2 of the only FDA approved products for hairloss especially considering I'm 24 and dealing with an aggressive pattern. That said, I now know if I miss a day or 2 due to not being home it's not the end of the world.

How has dutasteride been treating you in terms of side effects? I think my only option is dutasteride after a year of finasteride. Were you taking finasteride prior to dutasteride or did you jump straight to it? I feel like I'll get super f*****g unlucky with dutasteride and end up with every side effect possible

I don't really have any side effects, except that i don't really get morning wood. But i have no problems whatsoever with getting erections otherwise. I went straight to dutasteride. Ive been on it so long now, so it is hard to compare the pre dutasteride me, with the person i am today.
