Hey guys, on Sunday I started using minoxidil 2%. I'm starting out slow so I have applied every other day, so Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday so far, so 3 times total. I'm actually using Lipogaine, which contains a ton of other ingredients, including several DHT blockers. This morning (following application last night,) I shed much more hair than I normally do. It was a little over 100 (without washing!) when normally it fluctuates between 40 and 70 or so. Could the dread shed be starting so soon?

Also, I noticed that a TON of the hairs I shed were seemingly miniaturized. Like TONS. I should point out that these hairs that appear miniaturized could be from Androgenetic Alopecia or could be from anemia, of which I suffered most of last year. Could the minoxidil be working that fast to shed miniaturized hairs?

I should mention that I've been taking 1-2 mL of castor oil every night for about two weeks (probably a little less,) and I've been on Spironolactone (100 mg) for about 5 months. I also take birth control pills that contain estradiol and drospirenone (a progestin.)

Btw, I am a 30 year old female.

Minoxidil in liquid form is very safe, but not always effective.

Not sure if you will get benefits from every other day usage, on two percent. If you are male, forty five percent respond to Minoxidil (five percent, it's
thirty percent for 2% Minoxidil).

If you are female, sixty percent respond to five percent.

Good to know about those numbers, where did you get them though.

Thanks for the input k9. I am going to work my way up to 5% once a day. I'm just starting slow. I'm also slowly introducing Folligen, taking castor oil daily, and am seeing my gynecologist soon for a dose increase on the spironolactone. I want to get up to 200 mg. Do you guys think I should also take finestaride? A dermatologist I saw about 6 months ago gave me a prescription, but I never filled it.
