How Is My Hair Holding Up? Any Advice?

I'm not really sure if I should be concerned or not as of right yet with regards to my hair. My mother's side has no instances of balding but my father is a Norwood 7 and there are some men on his side that have balded significantly (my father started in his early 30s). Regardless I have a dermatologist appointment in March and an appointment with a hair loss specialist in July (booked up here), so really my main question is should I wait to see them to start propecia just so I wouldn't be messing up my hormones for nothing?

I have attached 3 videos, they're all high contrast so you can see my hair under the worst possible conditions, this is also after sleeping on it and not showering for 2 days. I've always had a weird crown with a cowslick and exposed scalp, I just can't tell if this is a normal part or what not.

this is it completely flat and parted

this is it not parted but stuck up

this is it in a mirror without the contrast up, what it looks like everyday

I know its a lot of clicking links and viewing videos but I would really really appreicate any help or advice what so ever, I will do whatever I can to keep my hair. My hair on my vertex is thick, I'm not noticing any noticeable shedding (minus 8 or so hairs after I style my hair), I'm just very concerned and want to catch this thing. Do you think I have agressive MBP?

Thank you

Honestly I think your cowlick is okay. How is your hair line?

That's a very interesting crown. I can't really tell, but if you say it's been like that for a good while with no more thinning, than it's probably okay. But yeah, genetics are cruel, so honestly, I'm taking no chances and I don't think you should either. I hoped on some generic Finasteride that costs me $9/four months from Walmart. If you're in the US, I highly recommend that route.

The one thing I am sure of is that your hairline looks great. I think that's all the more reason to hop on finasteride so you can maintain that.

Your crown looks a little weird to me. I dont think you have agressive male pattern baldness though. It's a good thing you have appointments with specialists. A lot of dermatologist don't have a clue when it comes to hair loss so it would be wise to see a hair loss specialist.

Anyway, it seems like you"re still catching it early enough, even if you wait a couple more months.

Yes, it's a first sign of male pattern baldness. My hair was like yours (100%) at the end of 2015. I saw such a pattern on the crown area at the age of 21 (nearly 22). Then after 2 or 3 months I lost nearly half of the density, so mild diffuse pattern appeared. It wasn't a big problem at all, cause I had thick hair. But several months later I began to notice a different issue. My hairline had begun receding. Now I am going down to Norwood 2, and it's a disaster for me. I hate mature hairline. I want back my Norwood 0.5 and at least 20-30% of density. That's time when I started using finasteride, dutasteride, oral spironolactone and ketoconazole. You will need only finasteride to maintain what you have. Later you can add dutasteride 2 times a week to improve effect of finasteride.

Hey Crown, I think you should go and consult with hair loss specialist. Because you are more serious with this and why not. I recommend to use some sort of hair loss shampoo, hair vitamins, Laser comb for hair loss treatment etc.
