How important is diet? Could a change improve anything?

In my own opinion, you really need to get your diet under control for a couple of reasons.

Diabetes is a serious issue, and the complications you can have from it are probably much worse than hair loss.

This is especially true for males, because we are more at risk than females.

Even with insulin control, there are side effects that can happen to your body. I have friends that have diabetes, and although they don't watch their diet, they have had serious health issues. (I am talking about type 2, but the same probably applies to type 1 as well. Type 2 is reversible).

I really don't want to touch this topic that much, but just to state it's not something you want. I have friends that are diabetic, and
the ones that don't control their diet have already had heart attacks, strokes, and other items. Even the ones that use insulin regularly.

i don't get how ppl on here expect to regrow hair without eating lots of protein. even if you're on the medications you have to generate the hair somehow

I agree that it is important to monitor your diet, at least for your general health.

I think diet can definitely play a role, especially when you’re not getting enough protein, vitamins, or other nutrients. I wouldn’t expect a diet change to magically fix hair loss, but eating better overall can’t hurt.

I came across this primal diet meal plan https://betterme.world/articles/primal-diet-meal-plan/ and thought it was an interesting way to look at getting back to mostly whole, less processed foods. Might be worth checking out for some meal ideas, even if you don’t follow it strictly.

All of the influencers that have claimed to reverse their hair loss naturally with diet etc always conveniently have a middle parting that hides the temples. The best hair loss reversal that I've seen has been the youtuber Hair Regrowth with Alex that claims to have reversed his DUPA by reducing inflammation with his diet, he's just a hyper responder to medication imo.

Saturated fats from animals increases plaque, hormones, and inflammation, not good for hair
A lot of people on the high fat, low carb carnivore diet have chronically high cortisol, high cortisol is what causes hair loss in people with Cushing Syndrome.
