Does it take years for a hair follicle to die out?

I think one study said 36 months before the point of no return, but we have seen people bring back follicles that were 5-10 years gone.

Cause I’m one shed my hair got destroyed any way I can send you pics?

I remember a study or article that rejected the old model that hair miniaturize over several cycles. But that would take too much time to go bald. So they concluded that the hair miniaturize during a single cycle. Once it is past 50% lost diameter, the hair strand cannot be revived back to its original state.

I dont remember the exact wording of the study but it made sense back then.
And about the 50% hair diameter, I got it from doctors making an informational series on youtube. Maybe they meant most of the time, but still, proves that doctors know sh*t about hair loss.
