i took my first finasteride 1mg yesterday and took another today and my hair looks abit more receded and its only been a day :(

I am having trouble trying to figure out if its natural receding or shedding has kicked in already

Am starting to get abit worried now and i am contemplating continuing :(

Been on finasteride for a little over a year, and I'm still skeptical that this infamous "shed" is even a thing

you should def continue

Lol, hair looks worse in a day and a half? Best bet is not inspecting your hair too often for the next 6-12 months. Take some solid baseline pics now and compare at 6, then at 12 months. You're on finasteride, so odds are your hair isn't gonna go anywhere for the time being. Good luck bro!

Well I am getting a small one 3 weeks in. Could be Rogaine though since I started at about the same time.

I didn't take one today, i am starting to have second thoughts because i took another look around and see many success stories but also horror stories of side effects not going away even after stopping the drug or shedding alot with some saying it either didn't grow back or it took 2 years to see growth and even then they only got half of what they lost back.

I always thought about trying to block the DHT but i never really thought about the hormonal effect of using the drug and alot of the side effects i am assuming is down to hormone imbalance and thats quite scary.

The decision not to take it hasn't made me happy because i really was hoping it would regrow some hair but it feels like a gamble that i can't be certain won't make things worse.

There is a possibility it could work long term but everyones body works differently to medication and stuff so i fear i will be one of those people it will just make things worse for.

Well, then it's Goodbye Hair.

Finasteride doesn't make things worse in 99,999999℅ of people. It stops hairloss in 82%.

Most people just take it and are fine. The people writing horror stories here aren't representable in any way. If you wanna keep your hair the take it and don't think crazy stuff like it made you receide in 2 DAYS, that impossible.
