How do you know when to stop minoxidil?

I've been on minoxidil foam for 7 months. I haven't had any regrowth. I never had a significant shed all at one time, however, I have consistently lost more hair while I have been on it. I'm not on finasteride anymore and haven't been for several months, but I was not losing hair anywhere close to this amount of hair before I started the regimen.

Anybody stop taking minoxidil and notice a reduction in their amount of hair loss?

Why would you expect to not lose hair when you stop Finasteride treatment? That is the best tool we have for stopping loss.

If the Foam isn't working for you, you could try minoxidil liquid or a higher percentage minoxidil formula.

Stopped taking finasteride due to sides, so that is not an option for me unfortunately.

I may try a higher concentration of minoxidil. I just expected to see a little regrowth or even maintenance using minoxidil rather than increased hair losss with no positive results.

The reason I ask is that I know some people have no results with minoxidil, just wondering when you know you're one of them.

Oh. Well, it might just be that the androgens attacking your hair are just overwhelmingly powerful and that minoxidil alone cannot stimulate the follicles to keep growing.

I would add in some sort of topical anti-androgen like spironolactone. I think this site sells it.
