It's been about 4 years since i've visted these sites, back then as some of you can relate, my hair loss problem consumed me and i struggled with severe depression.

after researching every possible solution, i took the common sense advise of most of the rational people out here and went on the big 3, (is it still called that?)
I had been on minoxidil for about 10 years with min. results, so i switched to xandrox 5 and 15 combo, started taking propecia as well as adding nizoral to the mix. at about the same time i was prescibed wellbutrin to help me not focus obsessively about my loss.
long story short, all of the above got me through the last 4 years without stressing about my situation and i also had some moderate success with both maintaining and thickening up in certain areas, I'm most certain that this was the effects of propecia more then anything else, although i do believe he others helped as well.
but over the last few months I've noticed that i'm once again starting to thin rather rapidly and strongly believe that the propecia has peaked and i'm start to lose ground with it.
I find myself starting to slip back into a pretty major depression, I'm doing what i can mentally by seeing a therapist and trying to determine if it's time to switch antidepressants.
my question is this, is this now the time that I should seriously be consider make the jump to avodart? and if so, how do you get a prescription for it, seems to me that it would be next to impossible to have a legit Doctor write an off label prescription, am I wrong?

I'm not 38, hairline started receding around 18 and I guess I would be considered a diffuse thinner, but still have a reasonable amount of hair and with the use of toppix most people don't know I'm losing.

sorry to ramble so much but any advise that you can give to help me with my current situation would be greatly appreciated.

also, I added spironolactone to my hairline about 4 weeks ago and I feel like it's making a difference, is it possible that I would notice improvement in such a short period of time? or is it more likely just a change in cycle, longer hair or less humid weather that is bringing on the improvement.

anything else new in the last 4 years?
