How do I go about this?

I want to get a hair piece, but none of the stock pieces match my hair and to get a custom one I've been told that I need to shave my head to get a template (Going with full cap as it's becoming apparents that I am one of the few who lose NW7 hair as well). The problem is that while my density has gone down by 50%, I don't want to shave my head and for everyone to see, then magically reappear with my full cap in 7 weeks. There is literally no way that would fool anyone. What should I do?

If you have a bumpy head, then you definitely shouldn't go below a #5 (5/8ths of an inch) guard. Might want to reconsider your options.

Only options are shave head then get a piece 7 weeks later or don't I think.

Hi Thespain

You don't need to shave your head to make a template; you just slick your existing hair down with water or gel. So much misinformation out there I'm afraid. This is quite a good video on making a template: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KFQX0Bv_8N8. It's not for a full cap, but the principle is just the same. A template does not have to be exact to the millimetre - the base materials have a bit of stretch in them, so they are quite forgiving of small inaccuracies.

If you have any problems just ask.
