I'm 22 and my hair is thinning a little bit on the left side. I wasn't going to do anything about it until my friend told me he got prescribed Propecia from his doctor and it worked for him so I thought I would try getting Proscar since I can't afford Propecia. How should I go about getting it?
I'm going to the dermatologist this week for things unrelated to hairloss. Questions:
1) Can the dermatologist prescribe it to me or do I have to go to a different kind of doctor?
2) How much does it cost without insurance? I have a pretty good insurance plan (I don't know the specifics but I'm covered under my father's plan for seemingly everything) but JUST IN CASE, I wanted to know how much it costs out of pocket.
3) Is this committing insurance fraud if I don't have prostate problems but am taking Proscar?
4) What will this do to my insurance? Someone in the forums said they jacked up their insurance costs per month rather high because they were "flagged" as having prostate problems.
